It is reported that Oxford energy super hub (ESO), the world's largest combination of lithium-ion battery energy storage system and vanadium flow battery energy storage system, will start trading in the UK electricity market and will show the potential of hybrid energy storage assets.
Oxford energy super hub (ESO) has the world's largest hybrid deployment battery energy storage system (55mwh).
In this project, the 50MW / 50mwh lithium-ion battery energy storage system deployed by Wärtsilä has been traded in the UK electricity market since mid-2021. The 2MW / 5mwh vanadium redox flow battery energy storage system deployed by Invinity Energy Systems may be constructed in this quarter and will be put into operation in December this year.
