Wireless Charging History
In January 2009, WiPower developed the magnetic resonance standard "A4WP", which supports power transmission up to 50W, with distances up to 5 centimeters, and a power transmission frequency of 6.78 MHz.
In July 2010, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) formulated the magnetic induction standard "Qi". Established standards for 5W or smaller mobile terminals
In January 2012, IEEE released the PMA Magnetic Induction Standard based on the IEEE Standards Institute (IEEE-SA), forming the Power Affairs Alliance (PMA) for the industry. This standard is similar to Qi, mainly establishing a set of safe and energy-saving induction power standards, and implementing intelligent power management
In September 2015, A4WP merged with PMA Wireless Charging Organization to form the AirFuel Alliance, promoting a unified wireless charging standard
Until now, there are only two standards for wireless charging left:
1）Qi standard for Wireless Power Consortium (WPC)
2）AirFuel Resonant (A4WP standard) and AirFuel Inductive (PMA standard) of AirFuel Alliance (AFA)
