On February 15, during the apex exhibition in the United States, ipc-1401 guide to supply chain social responsibility management system was officially released. Ipc-1401 standard is jointly developed by nearly 160 expert volunteers from more than 80 enterprises and more than 10 industry associations from brand manufacturers, electronic assembly manufacturers, electronic device manufacturers, certification bodies, research institutions and industry associations in the global electronic industry chain.
Corporate social responsibility is a new topic proposed with the globalization of the electronic industry and the development of industry 4.0. It requires customers and suppliers of the electronic industry chain to pay attention to the social and environmental problems of the supply chain, take measures to protect labor rights and interests, continuously improve working conditions, prevent industrial injuries and occupational diseases, reduce environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, and prevent corruption and commercial bribery. To this end, some countries have promulgated RoHS / reach and other product compliance standards, and some international organizations have issued EICC / SA8000 and other enterprise compliance standards. Leading enterprises have passed the above requirements to upstream suppliers level by level, requiring suppliers to sign commitments, carry out on-site audits, and promote suppliers' continuous improvement, forming a corporate social responsibility campaign.
Ipc-1401 standard takes social responsibility as the customer's requirement, integrates it into the product and its production process, integrates it into product certification, supplier certification and procurement decisions, guides customers to cooperate constructively with suppliers, and gradually meets or exceeds RoHS / reach and other product compliance standards and EICC / SA8000 and other internal operation compliance standards. Ipc-1401 standard adopts the 2015 version of the ISO management system standard framework, which can be integrated with ISO9001 quality management system, ISO14001 environmental management system, OHSAS18001 occupational safety and health management system and SA8000 social responsibility management system. It can transform from the traditional compliance audit mode to the integrated social responsibility management, and realize the transformation of business mode. It can effectively prevent supply risks, improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs and enhance competitiveness, Improve customer satisfaction.
China is the world's largest manufacturing center. More than 70% of the global social responsibility audits occur in China. The ipc-1401 standard is developed by many Chinese electronic enterprises and their expert volunteers. Mr. Zhou Guoyin, senior CSR manager of Huawei, chairman of the standard development working group, said: ipc1401 will provide a structured communication and cooperation tool for customers and suppliers in the supply chain. The two sides will discuss how to integrate social responsibility requirements into business processes and achieve win-win results through business model transformation.
