Motor Drive Control System Of Electric Wheelchair

Motor drive control system of electric wheelchair contains the following modules:

(1) Power module: converting the battery voltage into the voltage needed to drive each chip device in the controller;
(2) Main control module: it drives the brain of the controller, and mainly uses a micro-control unit (MCU) to collect and process information;
(3) Communication module: communicate with the external controller (the control unit of the drill rod), and receive the sensor signal and output the control signal;
(4) Driving module: receiving the control signal of MCU and realizing electronic commutation by controlling the on-off of motor winding and battery;
(5) protection module: detect motor current to prevent overcurrent, and detect drive module temperature to prevent high temperature;
(6) Other modules: such as braking control and state detection.

 

 

   

 

 

The control system of electric wheelchair for the disabled is mainly composed of battery, joystick, main controller, DC motor and drive module, LCD display, turn signal, battery voltage detection circuit and so on. The system block diagram is shown in Figure 1. The movement of the joystick in any direction will produce two analog voltage signals with different polarities and amplitudes, which will be connected to two 12-bit high-precision ADC for simultaneous conversion after passing through the signal conditioning circuit. The main controller calculates and processes the two analog voltage signals collected by ADC in real time according to the set path planning program, and converts them into motor drive control signals, which are respectively given to the left and right motor drive circuits in different directions and different drive voltage signals, so that the steering and rotational speeds of the two motors are the same or different, and the technical requirements of driving the wheelchair to move forward, backward, turn and other motion modes are achieved. In order to ensure driving safety, turn signal and horn circuits and voltage detection circuits are designed. The main controller detects the battery voltage and driving speed in real time, and displays the remaining power and current driving speed through LCD.
