1. Damage to electrical performance: A humid environment can lead to a decrease in electrical performance, such as changes in resistance values, current leakage, etc.
2. Causing a short circuit: Moisture entering the circuit board may cause a short circuit between wires, thereby preventing the circuit from functioning properly. 3. Corrosive components: In high humidity environments, metal components on circuit boards are prone to corrosion, such as oxidation of contact terminals.
4. Inducing the growth of mold and bacteria: The humid environment provides conditions for the growth of mold and bacteria, which may form thin films on the circuit board, affecting the normal operation of the circuit.
To prevent circuit damage caused by moisture on the PCB board, the following measures can be taken for moisture-proof treatment
Encapsulation and sealing: Use sealing materials to package and encapsulate PCB boards to prevent moisture from entering. The common method is to place the PCB board in a sealed bag or box and ensure good sealing.
Use moisture-proof agent: Add a suitable moisture-proof agent, such as a desiccant or humidity absorbent, into the packaging box or sealed bag to absorb moisture, maintain a relatively dry environment, and reduce the impact of moisture.
Control storage environment: Keep the environment for storing PCB boards relatively dry and avoid high humidity or humid conditions. Dehumidifiers, constant temperature and humidity devices, etc. can be used to control environmental humidity.
Protective coating: Apply a specialized moisture-proof coating on the surface of the PCB board to form a protective layer that isolates moisture from entering. This type of coating typically has properties such as moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, and insulation.
