Characteristics of SMT components
SMT components are commonly known as pinless components or chip components. Traditionally, SMT passive components, such as chip resistance, capacitance and inductance, are also called SMC (surface mounted components), while active devices, such as small shape transistor SOT and flat assembly (QFP), are called SMD (surface mounted devices). Both SMC and SMD are functionally the same as traditional through-hole mounting components.

In this way, the diameter of the through hole on the PCB is only determined by the process level of the metallization hole when making the sound quality circuit board.
