Excessive humidity will cause great harm to electronic products and SMT chip processing components, plug-in components, etc. . It is reported that more than 1/4 of the industrially manufactured defective products worldwide are related to the hazards of moisture. Humidity is already a major issue affecting product quality, so why is the harm of moisture so great? Briefly introduce the harm of humidity to various products and devices.
1. Integrated circuit: Moisture can penetrate into the IC through the IC's plastic package and from gaps such as pins, causing IC moisture absorption. Then, water vapor is formed during the welding heating process of SMT patch processing, which eventually leads to cracking and internal oxidation of the IC resin package to cause product failure.
2. Liquid crystal devices: Although glass substrates, polarizers, and filter lenses of liquid crystal devices such as liquid crystal displays are cleaned and dried during the production process, they will still be affected by moisture after the temperature is lowered, which will lead to a decrease in product qualification rate.
3. Other electronic devices: capacitors, ceramic devices, connectors, switches, solders, PCBs, crystals, silicon wafers, quartz oscillators, SMT glue, electrode material adhesives, electronic pastes, high-brightness devices and other components The devices are all exposed to moisture.
4. Electronic devices during the operation: between the semi-finished product in the package and the next process; between the PCBA package and after the package to the power supply; IC, BGA, PCB, etc. after unpacking but not yet used; waiting for soldering in the tin furnace Devices; devices to be warmed after baking; finished products that have not been packaged, etc., are subject to moisture.

The humidity of production and storage environment of PCBA factory should be below 40%. Some varieties also require lower humidity.
