PCB assembly factories often encounter ceramic chip capacitors to be assembled on the circuit board when processing SMT. However, due to the very fragile structural characteristics of this type of capacitor, it is susceptible to stress damage (cracks), so some points should be paid attention to:
1. When laying out, keep as far away as possible from the separated edges of the panel, screws, partial welding components, repaired components, sockets that are often plugged in and out.
2. For chip capacitors above 1206, partial welding processes (such as nozzle welding, manual welding, rework workbench welding) are strictly prohibited.
3. If there are chip capacitors larger than 0603 near the split edge of the panel (within 5mm), manual splitting is strictly prohibited.
4. If there is a chip capacitor with a size larger than 0603 near the screw, it is strictly prohibited to install the screw without support.
5. For PCBs with chip capacitors above 0603 and large size and heavy components, it is strictly forbidden to hold them with one hand.
6. The impact force during placement should not be too large.
