WEL Networks plans 35MW battery energy storage system

Waikato-based wiring company WEL Networks has submitted a resource permit to build the country's first large-scale energy storage battery. The company plans to work with renewable energy specialist Infratec to build a 35MW (megawatt) battery energy storage system (BESS) that will be capable of meeting the daily needs of more than 2,000 homes. The company says it will also provide power reserves for the North Island during periods of high demand, and Infratec managing director Nick Bibby says it has extensive experience in battery projects and has used that experience to develop this opportunity for WEL Networks. "The batteries needed to be embedded in the network to best serve the local community," he said. "We chose a proven technology with a 20-year lifespan, so we expect this battery to make headlines in the coming years."
If battery storage projects are going to make "headlines," then BQC will be the "writer" of the news. Our ultimate goal is to achieve the maximum benefit for our customers. We treat each other with sincerity and mutual benefit first, and we have been engaged in PCBA manufacturing service for 19 years, which has won the trust and support of our customers.
