U.S. New York City to purchase hundreds of Model 3 electric cars from Tesla
New York City, USA, has reportedly offered Tesla a contract for the city to purchase a fleet of Model 3s from the electric car maker, a move that would create a fleet of hundreds of electric cars for the city, according to a report on the morning of Dec. 10. The offer to purchase the Model 3 from Tesla comes just a few months after New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a $75 million investment in electric vehicles. New York's new investment plan includes the following: 1. 300 electric vehicles to replace fossil fuel models 2. 275 new fast charging posts, 20 portable charging units, and 11 new solar charging units 3. three electric buses to replace traditional diesel buses 4. 78 electric ambulances 5. 125 diesel trucks to be converted to electric models.
