SMT Patch Feida Operation

May 26, 2023

SMT surface mount technology (SMT) refers to devices used for surface mounting of electronic components, also known as mounting machines or mounting machines. The main function of Feida is to accurately mount electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) to complete the assembly work of circuit boards.

Common SMT chip components used in SMT include resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, diodes, transistors, etc. These components are usually supplied in a belt type and mounted through Feida or other automatic mounting equipment.

The general steps for using Feida for mounting are as follows:

Preparation: Confirm the required components and PCBs to be installed and prepare them. Components are usually supplied in the form of coils, while PCBs require pre-treatment such as tin.

Set up Feida: According to the installation requirements, adjust Feida's parameters, such as device speed, suction nozzle size and position, etc. These parameters are adjusted based on the size, shape, and assembly requirements of the components and PCB.

Calibration: Perform Feida calibration to ensure the accuracy of various parameters. This includes the positioning of the suction nozzle, the accuracy of the electric device, and the calibration of the control system.

Installation operation: Place the components to be installed in the feeder of Feida and start Feida. Feida will automatically identify the position of the components and use suction nozzles to grab them, then accurately place them in the predetermined position on the PCB.

Welding: Once the component is attached to the PCB, a welding process may be required to ensure electrical connection between the component and the PCB. This can be achieved through traditional wave soldering or surface mount techniques such as hot air furnaces or reflux furnaces.

Testing and quality control: After SMT mounting, quality testing is usually required to ensure welding quality and accuracy of component installation. This can include methods such as visual inspection, X-ray testing, automatic optical testing, and functional testing.

Please note that the specific usage of Feida may vary depending on the device model, brand, and manufacturer. Therefore, before using Feida, please refer to the equipment's operating manual and follow the manufacturer's instructions for SMT mounting operations.
