I. Definition
The process of "transporting" programs to the memory space inside the chip is called burning.
Two, classification
Burning methods are generally divided into offline burning and online burning.
1. Off-line burning:
By connecting the adapter with different packaged chips, the program can be burned only when the chip is used with the adapter. The essence of adapter is similar to a kind of precision fixture. Different chip packages need different adapter seats. If there are errors in the production test and the production backtracking is corrected, the chip needs to be removed from the adapter and burned again according to the prescribed process, which consumes a lot of manpower and material resources and costs a lot. In the process of PCBA production, there will be some unexpected situations, such as insufficient temperature resistance of circuit boards, chip distortions will occur when the chip is disassembled, invisibly increasing the risk of scrapping.
2. On-line burning:
On-line burning uses the standard communication bus of the chip, such as USB, SWD, JTAG, UART, etc. The interface is generally fixed, and there are few pins to connect when burning. Because the communication rate of interface is not high, the burning can be completed by using general wire without high consumption. Online burning is programmed by wire connection. If a mistake is found in the production test, the PCBA can be retrospected immediately and burned again without disassembling the chip. It not only saves the production cost, but also increases the burning efficiency.
In PCBA processing, the advantages of online burning are obvious. Therefore, in the PCBA processing workshop of BQC, when burning products, online burning is generally used.
